The position of Line Cook at Oak View Group is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and live event service. This role is critical to the venue's dining operations, responsible for preparing high-quality foods to be served throughout the venue. The Line Cook must demonstrate excellent multitasking abilities, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining exceptional food quality and presentation standards. This role requires reliability and flexibility to meet the demands of event schedules and capitalize on opportunities to support various live entertainment events.
This is a part-time role offering an hourly wage of $18.00. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where teamwork and excellent communication are paramount. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking or food preparation experience
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and events
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must maintain excellent attendance
- Valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
Job Qualifications
- Previous cook or prep cook experience
- Able to operate standard kitchen equipment, including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
- ServSafe preferred
Job Duties
- Responsible for providing high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
- Prepares hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
- Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service, and delivery of product
- Responsible for reporting any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
- Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Responsible for observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking
- Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
