Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is a globally recognized leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Founded in 2015, OVG operates a comprehensive platform that spans venue development along with end-to-end capabilities such as venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. The company oversees a diverse portfolio of seven world-class owned venues, and has an impressive client roster that includes some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. Committed to innovation and excellence, OVG is dedicated to delivering memorable experiences through its state-of-the-art venues and dynamic live entertainment solutions.

The Line Cook position is based at Jackson Field in downtown Lansing, the home of the Lansing Lugnuts, which is a premier baseball facility with seating for over 12,000 fans. This role is integral to the hospitality services that ensure guests at the venue receive fresh, high-quality culinary offerings. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing foods that are served to guests throughout the venue, often engaging directly with the public while working areas such as buffet lines or order stations. This position requires excellent attendance and the ability to work scheduled events based on business needs. This hourly position offers a competitive wage ranging from $17.00 to $19.00.

In this role, the Line Cook adheres to strict preparation standards by following company recipes and portioning requirements to ensure consistency and quality of food. The position demands teamwork and cooperation in all aspects of food preparation, service, and delivery, as well as maintaining strict sanitation, health, and safety regulations in all work areas. The Line Cook is responsible for monitoring food to ensure proper cooking and presentation, including portioning and garnishing plates before delivery.

The role also involves collaboration with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and forecast food consumption based on expected attendance and event demands. A key attribute for success in this position is the ability to operate standard kitchen equipment such as broilers, steamers, convection ovens, mixers, meat slicers, and chef knives.

At OVG, diversity and inclusivity are core company values. The organization understands that embracing a varied workforce drives innovation, enhances employee engagement, improves service quality, and increases overall excellence. OVG is committed to fostering a work environment that celebrates the diverse communities it serves and actively promotes equal employment opportunities. The company does not discriminate against applicants or employees on any legally protected basis.
