The Line Cook position at Oak View Group plays a crucial role within their hospitality and food service operations at one of their world-class venues. This hourly role, paid between $12.00 and $15.00, involves preparing fresh, high-quality food products to be served to guests attending a wide range of events. Line Cooks may work in various stations, including buffet lines where they slice meats or prepare made-to-order dishes. The position demands strict adherence to company recipes, portioning guidelines, and sanitation standards to ensure the delivery of safe and delicious food.

The role requires a dependable individual who can maintain excellent attendance and be flexible with scheduling, including working during major events. As part of a team, Line Cooks contribute to fast and efficient food preparation and presentation while maintaining safety and cleanliness standards in their workspace. This involves operating kitchen equipment such as broilers, steamers, convection ovens, mixers, meat slicers, and chef's knives.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • previous cook or prep cook experience
  • ability to operate standard kitchen equipment including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef's knife
  • ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and guests
  • ability to work well in a fast-paced, event-driven team environment
  • possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • availability to work scheduled events and maintain excellent attendance

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cook or prep cook experience
  • able to operate standard kitchen equipment including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef's knife
  • ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe preferred

Job Duties

  • Responsible for providing high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
  • prepares hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
  • participates as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service, and delivery of product
  • responsible for reporting any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
  • maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • responsible for observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking
  • responsible for portioning, arranging, and garnishing food plates for delivery to guests
  • responsible for consulting with Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption
  • show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
