The Line Cook position at Oak View Group is a critical role in the food service operations across its venues. This position involves preparing high-quality and fresh food items that are served to guests, ensuring excellent culinary standards are met while working in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Often, the Line Cook will have direct public interaction, making it essential to maintain professionalism and customer service excellence. Working shifts are scheduled as per the business needs, including various event times, requiring flexibility and consistent attendance. The Line Cook is responsible for both hot and cold food preparation, following established recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistent quality. Responsibilities include managing tasks like slicing meats, preparing buffet lines, and cooking dishes to order. The role also demands a strong knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance protocols to ensure a safe and efficient kitchen environment. Sanitation, health, and safety standards are strictly enforced to comply with regulatory guidelines. Collaboration with culinary leadership, including Executive and Sous Chefs, is essential for menu planning and food consumption estimation.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a cooking or food preparation role
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment
- Valid food handling certificate if required
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including event times
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Previous cook or prep cook experience highly preferred
- Able to operate standard kitchen equipment, including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
- ServSafe preferred
Job Duties
- Responsible for providing high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
- Prepares hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
- Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service, and delivery of product
- Responsible for reporting any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
- Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Responsible for observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking
- Responsible for portioning, arranging, and garnishing food plates for delivery to guests
- Responsible for consulting with Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef or Sous Chef to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption
- Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
