The position of Line Cook at Hilton Garden Inn - Lagerheads Virginia Beach on the Oceanfront is a vital role within the Food and Beverage department. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, the Line Cook is responsible for preparing and producing high-quality dishes in adherence to established recipes and standards. The Line Cook’s daily responsibilities include following standardized recipes, accurately measuring ingredients, and employing various cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, and frying. The cook monitors cooking temperatures and times to guarantee the perfect preparation of dishes without overcooking or undercooking. Emphasis is placed on quality control through inspecting food for freshness, taste testing, and ensuring consistent portion sizes and presentation standards that meet customer expectations. Job Qualifications

  • previous experience as a line cook or prep cook in a restaurant or food service establishment preferred
  • basic culinary skills and knowledge of cooking techniques
  • familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • strong attention to detail and adherence to food safety protocols
  • flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays as required
  • culinary degree or certification from a culinary school preferred but not required
