The company offers competitive hourly rates, generous employee discounts for both staff and their friends and family, and access to medical, dental, and vision insurance plans for full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week after one year of employment. Additional benefits include medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and the advantageous closure of the restaurant on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day to allow employees to spend quality time with their own families. Moreover, Oakmont provides ongoing opportunities for personal and professional growth, encouraging team members to develop their skills and advance their careers within the organization.
The Line Cook role at Oakmont is vital to delivering the exceptional dining experience that the brand promises. A Line Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of food items with care, precision, and according to the highest standards of quality and food safety. This position requires an intimate knowledge of the menu items, recipes, plating guidelines, and basic sanitation and safety protocols. Utilizing tools such as knives, electric mixers, immersion blenders, food processors, scales, and portion bags, the Line Cook prepares ingredients and dishes following exacting preparation methods. They work with kitchen equipment including ovens, gas stoves, griddles, and broilers to ensure everything is cooked perfectly.
Attention to cleanliness and sanitation is paramount; the Line Cook maintains a tidy and hygienic workstation, consistently adheres to health department standards, and follows company guidelines to guarantee a safe and pleasant environment for both colleagues and customers. This role is suited for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, high-volume restaurant settings, work well as part of a team, and communicate effectively with peers and management alike.
The ideal candidate for this role is energetic, committed, and fun, bringing enthusiasm and a strong work ethic to the kitchen. Experience is important, with a minimum of one year in the restaurant industry preferred, particularly with six months in a fast-paced environment. Physical endurance is also necessary as this job involves standing for long periods, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, and the ability to reach, bend, and stoop. Additionally, candidates must be at least 16 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
Joining Oakmont as a Line Cook means becoming part of a company that values its people, offers excellent benefits, and provides an uplifting work environment where every day is an opportunity to spark brighter days for yourself, your team, and your guests.
