Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- proven experience as a line cook in a restaurant or catering environment
- ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency
- knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- physical stamina to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- strong knife handling skills
- availability to work 40 to 50 hours per week
- ability to commute to Baltimore, MD 21201
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary role preferably as a line cook in a restaurant or catering setting
- familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus
- strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
- experience in menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
- understanding of food handling procedures and food safety regulations
- previous experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is highly desirable
- a background in the food industry or culinary arts is advantageous
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- assist in menu planning and development to enhance the dining experience
- maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen
- collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service
- efficiently handle food items including cutting, chopping, and portioning as needed
- monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as necessary
- ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use
- contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively with colleagues
