As part of its dynamic team, Boyd Gaming currently offers an exciting opportunity for a Cook to join their vibrant culinary staff. The Cook role is integral to delivering exceptional dining experiences that align with the company's high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The role requires cooking orders in a timely manner, adhering to memorized standard recipes to ensure consistency and excellence in all food preparation. The Cook is responsible for monitoring food production processes to maintain the expected quality standards and managing the inventory levels of their station to ensure sufficient stock availability at all times.

The position involves preparing food orders accurately, coordinating orders for timely pick-up, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of workstations and storage areas. A significant part of the role also includes controlling waste through effective monitoring of food rotation, proper storage, and quantity control practices. Safety and sanitation procedures are consistently applied to meet and exceed health regulations and company policies. Physical stamina is essential for this position, as it demands standing or walking during shifts and the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 75 pounds. The Cook must demonstrate agility in activities such as reaching, bending, kneeling, and twisting to perform food preparation tasks efficiently.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of six months experience as a cook
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift
  • Capability to lift and maneuver up to 75 pounds
  • Physical ability to perform reaching, grasping, bending, kneeling, and twisting
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain required licenses or certifications

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of six (6) months of experience as a cook
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for duration of shift
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 75 pounds
  • Other physical requirements of the position include but are not necessarily limited to reaching, grasping, bending, kneeling, and twisting at the waist
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications

Job Duties

  • Receive and prepare food orders according to memorized standard recipes
  • Coordinate orders for pick-up
  • Maintain cleanliness of work station and storage areas at all times
  • Control waste by monitoring proper rotation, storage, and quantity control
  • Maintain inventory of station and order stock to maintain pars
  • Consistently apply established safety and sanitation procedures
