Located in New York City, MSK serves patients of all ages by offering comprehensive cancer care. The center is recognized both nationally and internationally for its commitment to personalized and compassionate healthcare. Scientists and clinicians at MSK work collaboratively to advance understanding of cancer biology, improve diagnostic techniques, and develop novel therapies that aim to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer more effectively. MSK also prioritizes the training and development of the next generation of medical professionals and researchers, ensuring ongoing progress in cancer care and research globally.

This position is within MSK's Food & Nutrition department, based at the main campus located at 1275 York Avenue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly role with a pay range of $26.77 to $40.05 per hour, primarily involving PM shifts, weekends, and holidays. Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine, candidates will be part of a team that supports the overall patient experience by preparing nutritious and high-quality meals.

As a cook at MSK, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of dishes accurately following standardized recipes, production sheets, and departmental standards. You will showcase your versatility by managing multiple kitchen stations including grill, sauté, prep, salad, desserts, and other areas. Batch cooking techniques will be applied to ensure meals are fresh, visually appealing, and served at the proper temperature. The role requires a high level of attention to detail and efficiency, as last-minute and specialty orders must be handled promptly and precisely to meet patient dietary needs. You will work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to maintain a seamless workflow within the kitchen environment. Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and kitchen equipment operation are essential. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an institution that values excellence not only in healthcare but also in the supporting services that enhance patient comfort and satisfaction.

If you are passionate about culinary arts and want to make an impact in a health-focused setting, MSK welcomes your application. The team is open to candidates with varying degrees of experience, including new culinary graduates who possess certifications such as a Food Handler’s Certificate or formal culinary training. Joining MSK means being part of a multidisciplinary team that prioritizes collaboration, communication, and accountability to deliver exceptional outcomes.
