The role of Line Cook at Legends Bay Grill is pivotal in supporting the kitchen's overall function and upholding the restaurant's standards. This position requires someone who can efficiently prepare menu items as directed by the Sous Chef and Executive Chef, ensuring every dish meets the high-quality benchmarks set by the establishment. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing, finishing, and garnishing all menu items, practicing proper food and knife handling techniques, and adhering strictly to kitchen safety and sanitation protocols. Maintaining a clean and organized workstation during service is essential, as is the ability to disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and work tables consistently.

In this role, the Line Cook must demonstrate a strong understanding of food preparation procedures and the ability to work under pressure during busy service times. The job demands flexibility to work varied shifts, which include nights, weekends, and holidays, along with variable overtime as needed. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in an environment with secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lighting, and dust. While machinery and software use are minimal to none, the job requires hands-on cooking skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in food quality and presentation. A Food Handlers Certification and at least one year of restaurant experience are preferred qualifications, along with a high school diploma or GED. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish will be considered a plus, enhancing communication within the team and service efficiency. Job Duties

  • Prepare menu items as directed by the recipes provided by the Sous Chef and Executive Chef
  • ensure that the quality and presentation of food products meet company standards
  • prepare, finish, and garnish all menu items
  • practice proper food and knife handling
  • use and apply proper kitchen safety procedures and basic cooking skills
  • maintain a clean workstation during service time
  • disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables
  • ensure kitchen and Health Department sanitation requirements are always maintained
  • perform other duties as assigned
