The Line Cook position at Hollywood Park Casino is an integral role within the culinary team. This role demands a culinary professional skilled in preparing hot and cold foods while adhering to stringent food safety standards. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must pass a background check and obtain a valid work permit
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Ability to work any shift including weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Ability to adapt to a noisy and busy casino environment
  • Must follow all health and safety regulations strictly
  • Must adhere to department, Human Resources, and Safety policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years line cook experience
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Able to pass a background check and obtain a valid work permit
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Strong customer service and team member relations skills
  • Ability to adapt to a casino environment with large crowds and high noise levels
  • Demonstrated flexibility to change schedules or locations within the casino
  • Ability to work any shift, including weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work under pressure and be detail oriented
  • Moderate physical exertion required including lifting up to 25 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and reaching

Job Duties

  • Ensure all assignments are complete before signing out
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including California Health & Safety Code Division 104, Part 7 - Retail Food
  • Report safety and other concerns immediately to supervisors
  • Function effectively in a team environment
  • Complete all duties assigned by leads, supervisors, and upper management
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and employees
  • Maintain a professional appearance and well-groomed look
  • Communicate effectively with all employees and follow instructions
  • Maintain proper storage procedures per Health Department and HPC requirements
  • Prepare, cook, cool-off, cover, date, and store potentially hazardous foods
  • Re-heat food and maintain hot food temperatures as required
  • Prepare menu items according to recipes and yield guides
  • Inform supervisors of shortages before items run out
  • Assist during busy periods for optimal guest service
  • Minimize waste and maintain controls to meet forecasted food costs
  • Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and work tables
  • Transport dirty pots and pans to the washing station
  • Assist dishwashers to improve cleanup efficiency
  • Break down workstation and complete closing duties
  • Restock items depleted during the shift
