In New York City, at the iconic Hudson Yards, we are currently seeking a dedicated full-time Line Cook to join our culinary team. Hudson Yards stands as a groundbreaking urban development, blending architecture, culture, retail, and dining to create a vibrant and innovative neighborhood that attracts locals and visitors alike. This location offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic and thriving environment surrounded by some of the city's most breathtaking views, including the famous Empire State Building. Delaware North prides itself on its 100-plus year legacy as a family-owned company with global operations, emphasizing growth, success, and a supportive team culture. Employees at Delaware North enjoy working in exciting settings from sports arenas to national parks, casinos, and more, with a firm commitment to career development and a welcoming environment that promotes equality and diversity.
As a Line Cook at Hudson Yards, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all dishes are prepared accurately according to the chef's specifications and recipes, maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation. This position offers competitive pay ranging from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour and is full-time, providing not only financial benefits but also comprehensive professional development. Team members are supported through training opportunities and a flexible work schedule, designed to promote work-life balance while ensuring efficient kitchen operations. Your daily responsibilities will include measuring, portioning, and cooking food items in a timely manner, maintaining correct food temperatures and storage safety, performing opening and closing duties, and keeping the workstations pristine and well-stocked. You will also be tasked with waste control management, ensuring that all waste is minimized and properly recorded.
Ideal candidates possess at least one year of experience as a prep or line cook, with the ability to efficiently prioritize orders and follow detailed directions. Basic math skills are essential for recipe management, but no high school diploma or GED is required, making this role accessible to passionate culinary professionals at various stages of their careers. Physical stamina is necessary due to the fast-paced nature of the work; duties include standing, walking, bending, and lifting pans up to 50 pounds in environments with exposure to variable temperatures. Joining Delaware North means becoming part of a global legacy where your contribution is valued, and your career growth is supported. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, making this an excellent place to grow your culinary career while enjoying the vibrant culture of Hudson Yards.
