The Line Cook position at Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas Strip plays a critical role in maintaining the high standards of culinary excellence that Hard Rock is known for. As a Line Cook, team members are responsible for preparing recipes and cooking menu items to exact specifications, ensuring consistent quality and taste. The role involves receiving and ordering supplies, properly labeling and storing food products, and performing essential opening, closing, and side duties to keep kitchen stations organized and fully stocked.

This position requires meticulous attention to cleanliness and safety, maintaining sanitary conditions throughout all kitchen areas including the line, expo, dish room, and back dock. Team members must exhibit a sense of urgency to meet high volume demand, accurately interpret orders via printed tickets or the kitchen display system, and assemble dishes ensuring product quality and adherence to standards. In addition, the Line Cook must demonstrate thorough product knowledge and handle complex orders including re-cooks, special preparations, and large party or voucher groups. This role reflects the core functions vital to the culinary operations of Hard Rock Cafe and contributes directly to guest satisfaction and operational success.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a high volume culinary environment
  • Ability to handle physically demanding kitchen tasks
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must comply with safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and instructions accurately

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 plus years of high volume cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high volume kitchen environment
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Job Duties

  • Making prep recipes and cooking menu products to spec
  • Receiving and ordering product
  • Properly labeling, dating, covering and refrigerating prepped food items for the line
  • Performing opening, closing & side duties - setting up, stocking, and breaking down all kitchen equipment and prep, line, expo stations
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, line, expo, dish room and back dock
  • Practicing safety and sanitation standards
  • Having a sense of urgency
  • Properly reading items printed on order tickets or automated Kitchen Display System
  • Assembling orders - double checking product quality and specs
  • Demonstrating impeccable product knowledge
  • Involved in handling all re-cook, special prep, long ticket, large party/voucher group procedures
