Hotel Lucile is a distinguished boutique hotel situated in the vibrant neighborhood of Silver Lake, Los Angeles. Set to open in late summer 2026, this unique 25-room property is housed in a beautifully preserved 1931 landmark church, offering guests a stunning blend of historic charm and modern luxury. With features such as original stained glass, soaring wood beams, a choir loft, and amenities including a restaurant, bar, rooftop, pool, and rotating art and community events, Hotel Lucile aims to create a distinct and memorable experience for both visitors and locals alike. As part of a growing brand, the hotel emphasizes community building, artistic collaboration, and exceptional hospitality.

The Line Cook position at Hotel Lucile is integral to the opening team, responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items in accordance with standardized recipes and quality guidelines. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage of $22 as well as a comprehensive benefits package including 401k with company match, health, dental, and vision insurance, holiday pay, paid vacation, maternity and paternity leave, and travel perks and discounts at affiliated hotel properties. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a cooking or food preparation role
  • knowledge of California Retail Food Code and food safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and plating specifications
  • maintain consistent food quality, taste, and presentation
  • prepare ingredients and complete daily tasks
  • ensure all menu items are prepared within established ticket times
  • properly label, date, rotate, and store food products using FIFO procedures
  • assist with daily prep production and banquet preparation when assigned
  • maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
  • follow opening, side work, and closing procedures
  • communicate effectively with the Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, and front-of-house team
  • monitor product quality and report shortages immediately
  • assist with inventory counts and receiving deliveries when assigned
  • minimize food waste through proper portioning and storage
  • maintain compliance with California Retail Food Code requirements
  • follow proper temperature control and food handling procedures
  • maintain sanitation of equipment, utensils, and work areas
  • use cleaning chemicals safely and according to manufacturer guidelines
  • comply with OSHA workplace safety standards and Company policies
  • maintain professional appearance and kitchen uniform standards
  • demonstrate teamwork and willingness to assist all kitchen stations
