We are currently seeking part-time Line Cooks to join our culinary team at Hencraft at Hub Hall in Boston, Massachusetts. This position offers a competitive pay of $20.00 per hour and flexible work schedules including days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, or a combination of shifts. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing dishes according to specific recipes and the chef’s instructions. You will be responsible for maintaining food safety and quality standards by ensuring correct food temperatures and proper storage. The role involves working efficiently to measure, portion, and cook food items in a timely manner while adhering to waste control guidelines. You will perform essential opening, closing, and side work duties to keep the kitchen running smoothly. Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation is also a key part of your duties.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals with a minimum of one year of experience as a prep or line cook who can prioritize tasks with speed and precision. Basic math skills are necessary to understand and follow recipe measurements and proportions accurately. The position requires physical stamina including manual dexterity to chop, mix, and blend ingredients, the ability to carry heavy pans weighing up to 50 pounds, and to perform repetitive motions such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching in variable temperature environments.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a prep cook or line cook
  • Ability to prioritize and complete food orders with speed and precision
  • Ability to follow procedures and take directions
  • Basic math skills to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions
  • No high school diploma or GED required
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, and blend a variety of foods and liquids
  • Ability to carry large pans weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
  • Exposed to variable temperatures
