Delaware North Sportservice is currently seeking seasonal Line Cooks to join their culinary team at Hammons Field in Springfield, Missouri. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for food preparation, teamwork, and providing exceptional guest experiences. As a Line Cook, you will play an essential role in preparing menu items including classic ballpark offerings such as burgers and hot dogs, as well as more refined dishes like steaks, grilled chicken, pastas, and vegetables. This position demands maintaining strict adherence to food quality, portion control, and safety standards while ensuring workstations and equipment are clean, organized, and properly stocked. The Line Cook must be capable of performing a variety of kitchen tasks ranging from opening and closing duties to recording inventory and controlling waste.

This role pays a competitive rate of $17.00 per hour and offers flexible evening, weekend, and event-driven shifts. Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift 35 lbs or more

  • no high school diploma or GED required

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house food service position
  • ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes

  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
  • ensure proper food temperatures are maintained
  • store food correctly
  • maintain freshness and quality of all menu items
  • package all products to proper specifications
  • prepare a variety of foods including ballpark classics and more refined dishes
  • keep workstations, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
  • perform opening, closing, and side work duties
  • conduct end-of-day inventory
