Job Description
Oak Crest Village by Erickson Senior Living is a premier continuing care retirement community located on an expansive 87-acre campus in Parkville, Maryland. Managed by Erickson Senior Living, one of the largest and most respected senior living and healthcare providers in the United States, Oak Crest Village offers a vibrant lifestyle, financial stability, and comprehensive health and well-being services for its residents and staff. Erickson Senior Living is renowned for its dedication to quality care and exceptional living experiences, making it a sought-after employer for individuals passionate about making a positive impact in the senior living industry. This community is part of a growing national network, offering both residents and employees access to innovative programs and a supportive atmosphere rooted in diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging. The commitment to an inclusive workplace ensures a supportive environment where employees from all backgrounds can thrive and grow.
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team at Oak Crest Village. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for great food, value teamwork, and bring culinary expertise to the table. As a Line Cook, you will be an integral part of our innovative Signature Dining Programs, where you will engage in à la minute cooking – preparing dishes fresh to order – and crafting chef-inspired meals that delight our residents. Your culinary skills will directly contribute to enhancing the dining experience and increasing resident satisfaction by maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and safety.
The position offers a competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience, ranging from $18.50 to $21.50, along with a robust benefits package designed to support your quality of life. Oak Crest prioritizes work-life balance, ensuring most restaurant team members complete their shifts by 9pm. Our benefits include paid time off, volunteer hours, medical, dental, and vision insurance options for eligible employees, and a 401(k) retirement plan with a 3% company match for team members aged 18 and over. Employees enjoy a 30% discount on meals and drinks at various on-site dining venues, including access to healthy meal options at discounted prices. Onsite medical centers are available to provide wellness visits and sick care for employees, complementing our comprehensive health benefits.
As part of the Erickson family, Oak Crest Village offers career growth opportunities as we expand and open new communities nationwide. We foster a culture of respect and continuous learning, encouraging our team members to develop their skills and advance within the organization. This full-time role requires a minimum of one year of cook-to-order experience and the ability to work some weekends and holidays. Physical requirements include the capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and to work in environments that range from hot kitchens to cold refrigeration units.
Joining Oak Crest means you will be part of a dedicated team striving to improve the lives of older adults through exceptional dining experiences and compassionate service. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to maintaining a workplace free of discrimination and harassment, supporting diversity in all forms. This position is an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals seeking to contribute their talents to a rewarding and meaningful mission while enjoying a supportive and enriching work environment.
