The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, formerly known as the Millennium Hotel, is a renowned hospitality establishment located in Anchorage, Alaska. Situated on the picturesque shores of Lake Spenard, just one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the hotel offers an ideal base for guests to explore the natural beauty and attractions of Alaska. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel features 248 well-appointed rooms and three exceptional food and beverage outlets, catering to both leisure and business travelers. We are currently seeking a full-time Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of food preparation and presentation for which the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is known. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing meals according to established recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistent quality and guest satisfaction. The position requires a dedicated and experienced individual who is passionate about food service, committed to maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and capable of operating efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

The Line Cook will handle meal portions, clean and prepare food, cook dishes, and maintain sanitation throughout the kitchen. They will also be responsible for advancing prep work, station setup and breakdown, and tracking food waste. This role demands attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the kitchen team to uphold the hotel’s reputation for exceptional cuisine. The successful candidate will have at least one year of professional cooking experience, knowledge of kitchen cleanliness and safety protocols, and the ability to meet deadlines while multitasking effectively. A valid food handlers' card is required for this position.

Job Duties

  • Prepares all the food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follows recipes, controls, portion, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant
  • Assumes 100 percent responsibility for quality of the products served
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the manager
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
  • Tracks and reports any food waste
  • Properly handles, stores and rotates all products
  • Prepares dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Responsible for station set-up, breakdown, and all advance prep work
  • Keeps stations clean and well stocked with menu ingredients
  • Keeps the kitchen clean and sanitized
  • Monitors and oversees food temperatures during hot and cold handling
  • Communicates with management product deficiencies, equipment, and safety issues
