The role available is for a skilled Cook responsible for the preparation, production, and quality control of a variety of food items including meat, fish, fowl, and other front-line station dishes. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage food preparation duties efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency. The Cook is expected to work with recipes accurately, prepare broiled and sauteed foods, and ensure all ingredients used are of the highest quality. This role also involves maintaining cleanliness and adherence to health regulations in all kitchen areas and equipment. The Cook will be an integral part of the kitchen team, collaborating with other personnel as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations. This position demands physical stamina due to the need to handle heavy food products and equipment, as well as adaptability to varied shift times given the hotel's 24/7 operation schedule. Alongside culinary skills, the Cook must understand food safety, sanitation practices, and emergency procedures, adhering strictly to company policies and safety protocols. The successful candidate will hold a current Food Handler Card and preferably have three years of cooking experience, with a specialization in broiler cooking. Job Requirements

  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or move goods weighing up to 100 lbs
  • sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment including knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, and slicers
  • ability to work in extreme temperature ranges
  • ability to perform duties in confined spaces
  • frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling
  • adherence to company grooming standards as outlined in the team member handbook

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • a minimum of three years cooking experience preferred
  • broiler cooking experience preferred
  • good basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
  • understanding of service standards and guest relations etiquette
  • proficiency in broiler and saute cooking fundamentals
  • knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
  • experience operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
  • basic math skills for recipe comprehension and portion control
  • basic English language skills for communication and instruction comprehension
  • ability to apply written product labeling instructions
  • ability to operate beverage equipment like coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Prepares daily preparation lists for production
  • reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
  • prepares all broiled and sauteed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications to ensure product consistency
  • visually inspects, selects, and uses only high-quality food items in preparation
  • checks and controls proper storage and portion control, especially specific cuts of meat
  • keeps refrigeration, equipment, storage, and working areas clean and compliant with health regulations
  • maintains all logs related to cooling, heating, and temperature
  • adheres to company policies and safety procedures
  • reports unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, and property damage to management
  • maintains neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • assists other kitchen personnel as needed
  • performs related duties as requested by management
