Job Description

Gardens on Quail is a distinguished retirement community located in Arvada, Colorado, dedicated to providing exceptional living experiences for seniors. The position available at Gardens on Quail is for a Line Cook, an essential role within the culinary team that contributes directly to the community's mission of offering an extraordinary senior living experience. As a Line Cook, you will work under the guidance of the Executive Chef and alongside a team of experienced culinary experts who prepare over 10,000 meals monthly. The role requires a blend of culinary skill, creativity, and efficiency, with a strong emphasis on cooking and baking most items from scratch. This enables the community to maintain a high standard of food quality and presentation, which is vital in providing a satisfying dining experience for residents.

This part-time position offers a starting wage of $20 per hour with expected work hours of approximately 16 hours per week, including opportunities to pick up additional shifts as needed. Availability on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 am to 7 pm is a requirement, along with flexibility to cover shifts during vacations or other absences. The Line Cook will also have the option to gain additional hours by working as a server.   • Flexible schedule to work shifts as needed
  • Restaurant experience of at least 1 year
  • Food preparation experience of at least 1 year
  • Cooking experience of at least 1 year
  • Must be available Friday and Saturday from 11am to 7pm

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited culinary school or equivalent experience
  • Ability to quickly solve problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a fast-paced large kitchen with multiple cooks working together
  • Work well within a team
  • Strong oral communication skills and strong interpersonal communication abilities
  • Available most shifts including weekends and holidays with flexibility
  • Desire and ability to have fun at work

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain station practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Assist with cleaning and organizing kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
