We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team at Gardens on Quail. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing and cooking high-quality meals that contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of our residents. The role is perfect for a culinary professional who enjoys working as part of a team and is eager to showcase their creativity and culinary skills. Under the guidance of the Executive Chef, the successful candidate will help prepare over 10,000 meals each month, with a focus on cooking and baking most items from scratch to ensure freshness and quality. The position offers a flexible schedule, with a requirement to be available for shifts during weekends, holidays, and times when other cooks are on vacation. The work hours are from 11am to 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays when the position is open, along with the possibility to pick up additional shifts as a server if desired.

This role requires someone with experience in a large-scale kitchen setting, excellent teamwork and communication skills, and a genuine passion for culinary arts. The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited culinary school or possess equivalent experience and should be able to maintain composure and solve problems efficiently in a busy kitchen environment. Employees must uphold all sanitation and safety standards, operate kitchen equipment safely, and maintain a clean and organized workstation. Job Requirements

  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Positive attitude
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds
  • Schedule open to working shifts as needed
  • One year of restaurant experience
  • One year of food preparation experience
  • One year of cooking experience
  • Must be able to pass a background check with no felonies, drug charges or assault charges
  • Prefer availability for day and night shifts
  • Work is in person

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited culinary school or equivalent experience
  • Ability to quickly solve problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a fast-paced large kitchen with multiple cooks
  • Work well within a team
  • Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Availability most shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Desire and ability to have fun at work

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain station practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Assist with cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
