The Sofitel Philadelphia is currently seeking a Line Cook/Culinary Expert to join its vibrant culinary team. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about cooking and eager to contribute culinary creativity and skill to deliver memorable dining experiences. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, portioning, and plating an array of menu items with precision while adhering to the hotel’s high standards for quality and presentation. This role offers flexibility with AM and PM shifts, allowing cooks to showcase their talents during different service times.
In this role, you will work closely with kitchen team members, management, and restaurant staff to ensure smooth and efficient service. You will manage your workstation independently when required and collaborate effectively to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your culinary expertise will be key in preparing dressings, sauces, appetizers, sides, and entrees while maintaining a keen eye for detail and consistency. Familiarity with a variety of proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, spices, vinegars, and dry goods is essential.
The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of professional cooking experience, including one year in a French or American a la carte restaurant setting. You should have a strong knowledge of food safety, cleanliness, and a deep passion for delivering exceptional food and customer service. This position requires a positive attitude, excellent multitasking abilities, and strong communication skills to engage with diverse team members and guests alike. Punctuality, responsibility, and a commitment to quality are must-have attributes, as well as the flexibility to work nights and weekends. Successful candidates must also pass a background check.

Job Duties
- Showcasing your unique culinary skills and creativity in any food you cook to create a memorable dining experience with your food
- Collaborate with your team members in the kitchen, managers and restaurant staff and provide support and updates throughout service
- Work in a team and sometimes autonomously and be responsible for the management of your work station
- Prepare and cook menu items including dressings, sauces, appetizers, sides, as well as entrees
- Prep, wash, and chop meal components for larger dishes and plate meals according to Sofitel standards
- Restock kitchen items, clean prep station and put away equipment as required per kitchen standard
- Read and understand menu and techniques required to execute the dishes properly
- Understand and have experience using different kinds of proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, dry goods, spices, vinegars, etc.
