The Full Time Line Cook position at Au Cheval is pivotal to the kitchen operations, responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to the Hogsalt Recipe Index, ensuring that all food quality and time standards are met consistently. Job Requirements

  • One year of cooking experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant
  • passion for excellence, superior service standards, and a positive attitude
  • open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift, including frequent bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and stooping
  • ability to remain positive and productive in a potentially hot or cold work environment

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies, ensuring proper inventory control
  • cook and prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff according to the Hogsalt Recipe Index, ensuring food quality and time standards are always met
  • maintain a high level of communication, understand the verbiage for call backs of menu items, and keep lines of dialogue open and relevant to service
  • answer, report to, and follow instructions and direction from Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or other leadership
  • properly clean and break down station at the end of service, ensuring all food handling and food storage standards are met
  • ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations at all times
  • maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, leadership, vendors, and guests
