Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- Active Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health
- Demonstrated leadership, training, and supervision skills
- Proficient written and oral communication
- Active and able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working near extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- Availability to work indoors and outdoors for events
- Criminal background clearance required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possession of a current Food Handlers Card
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- Experience in food service or culinary roles preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards
Job Duties
- Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes to provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion
- Ensure health protocols are always followed including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures
- Familiarize yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs
- Participate in resident orientations
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas as per regulations
- Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies
- Support teamwork and communication among kitchen staff
