The current opening is for a part-time Cook position based in Freeburg, offering a competitive starting wage ranging from $19.25 to $28.50 per hour. This role works Wednesday through Saturday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Job Requirements
- Be at least eighteen years of age
- Have a current Food Handlers Card
- Demonstrate leadership, training, and supervision skills
- Possess proficient communication skills
- Be physically active and able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable with extreme temperature exposure
- Able to work indoors and occasionally outdoors for events
- Pass a criminal background check
Job Qualifications
- Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified by the Department of Health
- Demonstrate skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision
- Possess proficient written and oral communication skills
- Be at least eighteen years of age
- Able to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English
- Comfortable working around extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
- Ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- Pass a criminal background check
Job Duties
- Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes
- Provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion
- Ensure health protocols are always followed including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures
- Familiarize yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs
- Participate in resident orientations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
