Job Description
Uchiko Miami Beach, located in the vibrant Sunset Harbour district, is an esteemed restaurant known for its innovative approach to Japanese cuisine. As a proud member of the Hai Hospitality group, Uchiko presents a unique dining experience that blends traditional Japanese flavors with modern culinary techniques. This fusion creates an atmosphere that is both exciting and welcoming for guests, emphasizing fresh ingredients, creative preparations, and authentic taste profiles. Hai Hospitality is a multi-concept restaurant group headquartered in Austin, Texas, renowned for its award-winning restaurant concepts including Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba, and Loro. Spread across major cities such as Austin, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Miami, Miami Beach, West Hollywood, and Scottsdale, the group commits itself to excellence, culture, and growth, steadily gaining recognition in the restaurant industry.
We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Line Cooks to join our team at Uchiko Miami Beach. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $18 to $23, commensurate with experience, along with a $1,000 sign-on bonus paid in two installments—a $500 bonus following 90 days and completion of training, and another $500 after six months of employment. As a Line Cook at Uchiko, you will take on an essential role within our culinary team, assisting in preparing high-quality dishes that align with Uchiko's signature style. You will work alongside experienced chefs in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen environment that values precision, efficiency, and collaboration.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workstation while using kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and knives safely and efficiently. You must be able to lift heavy items such as trays and equipment up to 50 pounds, while also demonstrating the physical stamina to stand and move for extended periods. Effective communication skills are essential, as working at Uchiko requires the ability to interact with colleagues and guests professionally. The ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to changing kitchen demands is vital in delivering the exceptional dining experience our guests expect.
Uchiko prioritizes employee well-being by offering medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance options, as well as pet insurance and mental health services through an Employee Assistance Program. Furthermore, employees benefit from an employer-matched 401k savings plan and opportunities for career advancement within the company. Unique to our team, we provide a knife reimbursement and sharpening program, cultural ambassador trips to our other locations to enhance learning and teaching, daily family meals, dining discounts, and monthly dining stipends. At Uchiko, we foster a workplace culture focused on growth, support, and respect, ensuring that team members can thrive professionally and personally.
If you are energetic, reliable, and passionate about delivering superior culinary experiences in a dynamic environment, Uchiko Miami Beach invites you to bring your talents and join our team. We uphold a diverse and inclusive atmosphere where every employee is valued. Let Uchiko be the next step in your culinary career, where you can hone your skills and grow as part of a respected hospitality group.
