Job Description

Uchiko Miami Beach, located in the vibrant Sunset Harbour, is a distinguished member of the Hai Hospitality group, a dynamic and rapidly expanding restaurant collective based in Austin, Texas. Hai Hospitality is renowned for its innovative and award-winning concepts including Uchi, Uchiko, Uchiba, and Loro, which have made their mark across several key cities such as Austin, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Miami, West Hollywood, and Scottsdale. Uchiko stands out as a bold and fiery evolution of the traditional Japanese culinary style, blending smoke and char with the fresh and clean flavors originally pioneered by renowned James Beard Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole. As a subsidiary of Hai Hospitality, Uchiko Miami Beach upholds a commitment to culinary excellence, cultural exchange, and employee development within a welcoming and inclusive environment.

The role of Line Cook at Uchiko Miami Beach offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals eager to be part of a high-energy, innovative kitchen. This full-time position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $18 to $23, commensurate with experience, along with a generous $1,000 sign-on bonus paid in two installments. The first $500 bonus is awarded after 90 days post training completion, with the remaining $500 granted following six months of dedicated service. Being a Line Cook here means joining a team that values precision, speed, collaboration, and creativity. Employees enjoy a range of benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance options, as well as pet insurance. Uchiko promotes a culture of growth by almost exclusively promoting from within, and provides unique perks like knife reimbursement and sharpening programs, cultural ambassador trips to other locations, daily family meals, dining discounts, and monthly dining stipends. This role requires the ability to operate safely and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, handle kitchen equipment like ovens, grills, and knives proficiently, and maintain a clean and organized workspace that meets the highest standards of hygiene and professionalism. Uchiko is inclusive and offers reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to ensure all team members can successfully perform their essential duties. The role aligns with Uchiko’s mission to deliver exceptional Japanese cuisine while fostering a supportive and community-driven workplace culture. Additionally, as part of Hai Hospitality’s commitment to diversity and equal opportunity employment, Uchiko Miami Beach embraces an inclusive workforce that reflects its diverse clientele and community. This position is an excellent pathway for culinary professionals looking to advance their careers in a reputable and forward-thinking restaurant group with multiple locations nationwide.
