Job Description
The Turning Point is an award-winning restaurant specializing exclusively in breakfast, brunch, and lunch services. With over 30 corporate locations spread across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, and Florida, it has established itself as a prominent daytime-only dining destination with a strong presence in the region. The company also supports additional franchised locations, expanding opportunities for both training and career growth in support roles.
Working at The Turning Point means becoming part of an enthusiastic and growing organization that values its employees and embraces diversity. The company offers a welcoming environment for both English and Spanish speakers through comprehensive training programs, ensuring that no new hire ever feels overwhelmed or unprepared. With a focus on healthy work-life balance, The Turning Point provides daytime shifts only, closing daily at 3 PM—an attractive benefit that allows employees to avoid night shifts while still earning competitive pay through a nighttime differential paid during daytime hours.
As a cook at The Turning Point, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for providing a high-quality dining experience. The role requires a thorough understanding and practice of proper food handling and storage, accurate and efficient cooking, and adherence to recipe guidelines, portion controls, sanitation standards, and safety protocols set forth by the company and local health departments. Employees will gain experience working across various kitchen stations, including cooking, food preparation, and dishwashing. A supportive management team committed to leading by example ensures that all staff members feel respected, valued, and appreciated at every step.
The opportunities for career advancement at The Turning Point are substantial, as more than 65 percent of management positions have been filled by promoting from within the company. Flexible scheduling, the ability to pick up shifts at any of the many locations throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, and the possibility to transfer to different locations in case of relocation provide employees with the flexibility and mobility to tailor their work experience to fit their lives.
Employee perks complement the supportive work environment, including employee discounts, free uniforms, paid time off, and discounted meals. The combination of these benefits and the positive workplace philosophy makes The Turning Point a desirable employer for those seeking a full-time or part-time role in the restaurant industry without the demands of night shifts. This role is ideal for enthusiastic individuals looking to build a career in food service while enjoying structured support, predictable daytime hours, and opportunities for growth.
