Job Description

The Turning Point is an award-winning breakfast, brunch, and lunch restaurant known for operating daytime-only shifts. The role available is a kitchen team position responsible for preparing and cooking food during daytime hours exclusively. Employees enjoy the unique benefit of receiving nighttime pay for working daytime shifts, as all restaurants close daily at 3 pm. The position involves proper food handling, accurate and efficient cooking, and adherence to both The Turning Point and health department safety and sanitation guidelines. The kitchen positions require versatility as team members will learn to work across various stations such as cooking, food prepping, and dishwashing. Additionally, there are flexible scheduling options with opportunities to pick up shifts across multiple locations in NJ, PA, and DE, as well as options to transfer to other locations if relocating. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work daytime shifts only
  • Strong communication skills in English or Spanish
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior restaurant experience is recommended but not required
  • Skilled with the use of cookware needed for the position
  • Able to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy
  • Ability to work with high temperature equipment and in a high heat facility

Job Duties

  • Proper food handling and storage
  • Preparing and portioning food products prior to cooking
  • Accurately and efficiently cooking food
  • Ability to read in English or Español and following all recipes, portions, guidelines, sanitation, and basic safety to produce food according to the Turning Point and Health Department guidelines
  • Learn and work in all kitchen areas including three cooking stations, food prep, and dishwashing positions
  • Follow manager guidance and maintain professionalism
  • Adhere to health and safety standards at all times
