The Line Cook role at Thomas Cuisine is a critical position within their corporate dining operation, located in Salt Lake City, UT. This full-time role pays $18 per hour and operates primarily on a morning shift schedule. As a Line Cook, you will be entrusted with preparing and executing menu items efficiently, precisely, and consistently, all while adhering to food safety standards and standardized recipes. Working in a state-of-the-art kitchen environment designed for efficiency and teamwork, you will collaborate with a culinary team that values craftsmanship, precision, and quality. The kitchen serves a vibrant community, including staff, visitors, and catering events, all focused on advancing next-generation infectious-disease diagnostics with compassion and innovation.
In this fast-paced role, you will master short-order cooking techniques and maintain high standards in food preparation and presentation. The role demands exceptional multitasking abilities and organizational skills to keep the grill station fully stocked and orderly while managing product handling with strict adherence to company policies and state regulations. Beyond cooking, this position includes opportunities to develop leadership and supervisory skills by motivating and supporting team members. Physical requirements include standing or walking for the entire shift and working in an environment with moderate noise, airborne particles, and exposure to wet or humid conditions when necessary. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to report any unsafe working conditions or equipment issues promptly. The position requires reliable transportation skills as food delivery to the HR building is part of the job, necessitating a valid driver's license.
