Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform kitchen tasks
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a creative kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Ideally two years proven cooking experience including as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Culinary school diploma not required but an advantage

Job Duties

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive chef or sous chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and properly contain leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with allergy control, sanitation regulations, and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
