Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience in food preparation in restaurant or kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food preparation methods and kitchen equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Previous kitchen supervisory experience
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure
- Certified in Food Safety or Sanitation
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Must hold State of Louisiana Serv Safe Food Handler Certification
- Valid Responsible Vendor License
- Physical ability to stand up to 12 hours, lift frequently up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Must have manual dexterity and gross motor skills
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and some holidays
Job Qualifications
- Experience in the food preparation field in a restaurant, kitchen or dining area
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Knowledge of food preparation methods and operations, kitchen equipment and materials
- Knowledge of food costing, inventory, POS programs, Excel, Word and other computer programs
- Experience managing employees
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the general public
- Ability to perform duties in a clean and professional appearance and manner
- Intermediate understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
- Previous kitchen management or supervisory experience required
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized
- Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge
- Food Safety or Sanitation certified
- Food Handlers permit required
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and some holidays
- Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions
Job Duties
- Manage kitchen staff and oversee daily food preparation operations
- Monitor food costing and inventory levels
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Operate POS systems and maintain accurate records using computer programs
- Train and mentor kitchen employees on proper cooking and safety methods
- Communicate effectively with staff and management
- Maintain a clean, professional, and efficient kitchen environment
