Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary arts education or relevant training preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to follow directions and safety protocols
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and guests
  • Compliance with company uniform standards and grooming

Job Qualifications

  • High school education plus culinary arts schooling or related major
  • One or more years of related cooking experience
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred
  • Ability to provide friendly guest service
  • Understanding of proper food preparation, cooking, handling, and storage
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, safety, and equipment use
  • Ability to compile facts and resolve basic issues
  • Ability to operate phone and office equipment

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food that is cost-effective, safe, and compliant with food handling policies
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen sanitation and equipment
  • Follow safety protocols including food handling and knife use
  • Ensure quality standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy, and grains including proper storage
  • Control waste and utilize leftovers effectively
  • Use appropriate seasonings for culturally diverse foods
  • Cook using various methods such as poaching, braising, roasting, grilling, frying, and baking
  • Produce menu items from scratch in proper portion sizes and presentation
  • Prepare special requests accurately
  • Use kitchen supplies and equipment safely
  • Be punctual and wear proper uniform
  • Attend department meetings
  • Communicate professionally with guests, vendors, and associates
  • Report emergencies, accidents, injuries, damage, and safety hazards to management
  • Write shift reports as assigned
  • Report maintenance issues
  • Respond to guest requests and concerns
  • Perform special projects and participate in committees as requested
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Practice safe work habits and emergency procedures
