Job Description

Laramie County Community College (LCCC) is a distinguished public community college located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The role available at LCCC is a full-time, benefited Line Cook position within the college’s dining services. This role is classified at the S26 level and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.03 to $22.09, depending upon the candidate’s experience. The Line Cook will work primarily Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with occasional weekends required for large-scale campus events. The Line Cook is expected to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality grilled dishes. Working closely with the head chef and kitchen staff, the incumbent must ensure that meals meet stringent quality standards while complying with all health and safety regulations. The position involves managing a grilling station, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, assisting in menu planning, and delivering exceptional customer service to all students, staff, and campus visitors.

Candidates should expect a dynamic work environment that requires physical stamina, adaptability, teamwork, and effective communication. The job includes duties such as preparing menu items according to set standards, maintaining food quality and safety, following dietary guidelines, providing excellent customer service, and managing inventory efficiently. Moreover, the Line Cook must adhere to routine cleaning protocols to ensure a safe kitchen environment that aligns with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

This role requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with formal culinary training preferred, and a minimum of two years’ experience in a fast-paced culinary setting. Candidates holding ServSafe certification, a culinary degree, or those with four or more years of relevant food service experience are highly preferred. Job Duties
