The Cook role at Full House Resorts is essential for maintaining the highest culinary standards within a vibrant and fast-paced gaming and hospitality setting. This position demands a dedicated culinary professional who can efficiently handle food preparation while ensuring quality, food safety, and presentation meet the company’s stringent standards. The Cook must be adept at managing multiple orders, including large volume tickets, without sacrificing the integrity or timely delivery of each dish. Responsibilities include preparing menu items and specials with attention to detail in taste and allergen considerations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and adhering strictly to health and safety regulations, including compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act. The cook will work under the guidance of the Lead Cook, Sous Chef, Executive Chef, and management team to hone culinary skills and contribute to an overall positive dining experience. Essential skills include excellent time management, adaptability under pressure, and teamwork. The position also entails physical demands such as lifting, standing for prolonged periods, and performing various physical tasks to maintain kitchen operations at peak efficiency. Job Requirements
- Two or more years of recent and related cooking experience, preferably in hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment
- Demonstrated experience performing under deadlines or pressure
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work
- Ability to efficiently prepare menu items and specials
- Compliance with safety and health standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for entire shifts
- Must wear proper uniform and gaming license if applicable
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including additional hours
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years of recent and related cooking experience, preferably in hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment
- Demonstrated cooking experience within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Ability to cook and prepare a wide variety of dishes
- Food Handler's License or equivalent
Job Duties
- Report to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work
- Maintain and wear all uniforms properly, including nametag
- Wear a gaming license if in possession of one
- Efficiently and consistently prepare all menu items and specials with attention to quality, presentation, taste, and other details
- Prepare food items according to ticket specifications and account for allergens
- Make adjustments to enhance the overall dining experience
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Perform routine cleaning duties, including stocking, sweeping, and mopping floors
- Develop and maintain positive relations with guests and employees
- Receive ongoing training and guidance from supervisory and managerial staff
- Comply with all safety, health standards, internal policies, and the Colorado Limited Gaming Act
- Maintain alertness and general awareness of restaurant operations
- Report any concerns regarding food quality, selection, and variety
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
