Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • current Food Handler's Permit
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • 3 to 4 years cooking experience preferred
  • effective communication skills in English
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • flexibility to work holidays and varied shifts
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • courteous and professional demeanor
  • ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • current Food Handler's Permit
  • preferred training in Servsafe
  • state sanitation certificate
  • 3 to 4 years of related cooking and food service experience
  • experience with kitchen equipment operation preferred
  • intermediate to advanced knife skills
  • knowledge of kitchen environment and food preparation
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to read and follow recipes and safety instructions independently
  • basic computer skills
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • ability to remain calm in emergency situations
  • patience and compassion for senior adults
  • adherence to dress and hygiene standards
  • ability to work holiday and flexible hours

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook to order foods for various meal periods
  • operate a grill station as needed
  • prepare food adhering to federal, state, and corporate food safety standards
  • read and follow oral or written food orders accurately
  • provide high-quality customer service
  • follow standardized recipes for soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other products
  • operate kitchen equipment for ingredient preparation
  • taste and check food quality and production requirements
  • attend food safety and allergy training
  • handle inventory and prepare meals for special diets
  • produce small to large batch goods using advanced cooking techniques
  • take and record food temperatures and correct discrepancies
  • clean and sanitize workstations and equipment
  • assist with setup and break down of food service areas
  • comply with safety and risk management policies
  • participate in safety meetings and training programs
