The Line Cook position at Belmont Village Senior Living is a full-time role with working hours from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm, Friday through Tuesday, with Wednesdays and Thursdays off. This role is based within their commercial kitchen where food for residents and guests is freshly prepared, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. The Line Cook is integral to maintaining the culinary excellence that residents expect, working with company recipes to produce meals from scratch with proper portion control and visually appealing plating. Candidates for this position should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment, be reliable, and bring a positive team-oriented attitude along with empathy for the senior community. This role demands excellent multitasking skills to manage several orders simultaneously while maintaining clean and orderly kitchen operations in compliance with health regulations. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
  • must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • minimum of 6 months line cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • proven success with basic culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
  • ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
  • all offers of employment are conditional based on the successful completion of a state and federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 6 months line cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
  • follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
  • properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
  • maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
  • make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
