Job Description
Torchy's Tacos is a vibrant and rapidly expanding restaurant chain that originated in Austin, Texas, in 2006. Starting from a humble food trailer and the vision of a dedicated executive chef, Torchy's has grown to operate over 130 locations nationwide. Known for its innovative and delicious tacos made from scratch every day, this establishment prides itself on delivering high-quality, flavorful food in a fast-paced, energetic environment. The brand's commitment to culinary excellence and unique menu offerings has garnered a loyal customer base and a strong reputation in the competitive fast-casual dining industry.
As part of the Torchy's team, the Line Cook role is essential to maintaining the high standards the brand is known for. This position involves working in a dynamic kitchen setting where preparing and cooking a variety of ingredients requires skill, speed, and attention to detail. The Line Cook is entrusted with mastering multiple cooking stations such as the fry station, grill, sauté, steam, and taco assembly. This multifaceted role ensures that every dish delivered to customers meets Torchy's signature quality and presentation. Compensation for this role starts at $15.16 per hour plus pooled tips, providing an attractive wage combined with opportunities to maximize earnings through excellent service and teamwork.
The Line Cook will be at the heart of daily kitchen operations, engaging in preparation, cooking, quality control, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the station, and contributing to inventory management. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and values collaboration. Health and safety standards are a priority, and the Line Cook must adhere to all food handler certification requirements specific to their location. Prior experience is preferred but not mandatory, as the company offers flexible work schedules and comprehensive training.
Joining Torchy's means becoming a part of a company culture that values its team members not only through competitive pay but also through a substantive benefits package. Full-time staff have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance after one year of employment, along with a 401(k) plan after six months. Paid time off is also provided after the first year. Employees receive a discount on the famed Damn Good food for themselves and their spouses, contributing to a supportive and rewarding work atmosphere. Torchy's Family Foundation further supports team members during times of personal need or crisis, demonstrating the company's dedication beyond the workplace. Working as a Line Cook at Torchy's is not just a job; it offers tremendous potential for career growth in a thriving and supportive environment.
