This listing is for a part-time Line Cook position at Small Cheval - Logan Square, offering $19 per hour. The role demands open availability for both morning shifts (7 am - 3:30 pm) and evening shifts (3 pm - 11:30 pm), targeting candidates eager to work in a dynamic restaurant setting. Job Requirements

  • Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift, including frequent bending, lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, and stooping
  • ability to remain positive and productive in a potentially hot or cold work environment

  • Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies, ensuring proper inventory control
  • cook and prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff according to the Hogsalt recipe index, ensuring food quality and time standards are always met
  • maintain a high level of communication, understand the verbiage for call backs of menu items, and keep lines of dialogue open and relevant to service
  • answer, report to, and follow instructions and direction from Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or other leadership
  • properly clean and break down station at the end of service, ensuring all food handling and food storage standards are met
  • ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations at all times
  • maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, leadership, vendors, and guests
