Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a distinguished lifestyle brand combining a Napa-style tasting room and a wine-inspired retail experience with a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event space. The company offers a modern-yet-casual dining environment where every dish is carefully prepared from scratch to pair perfectly with their award-winning wines. Since its inception in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has cultivated one of the world's largest wine clubs, providing exclusive member benefits that include curated dining and travel experiences. Through initiatives like Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk, the brand is also innovating by bringing the vibrant flavors of Rome to its patrons, expanding its culinary influence and enhancing the guest experience. Cooper's Hawk is not just about dining; it is about creating memorable moments and a lifestyle that celebrates quality food, fine wine, and genuine connections.
The Line Cook role at Cooper's Hawk is more than a typical kitchen position; it represents an opportunity to craft unforgettable dining experiences with precision, urgency, and pride. This position demands culinary skill combined with a passion for delivering high-quality food in a fast-paced, upscale casual restaurant environment. Line Cooks are expected to manage their station effectively, follow recipes meticulously, control portions, and present each dish with care. The role requires the ability to multitask, stay organized, and collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely meal service. Beyond cooking, the Line Cook takes ownership of their work area by maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, and supporting the kitchen team where needed.
Communication is vital in this role, with Line Cooks expected to stay in sync with teammates and managers to time dishes perfectly and maintain service flow. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality are essential, as every plate reflects the individual's craftsmanship and the brand's high standards. The role also encourages creativity and initiative, asking cooks to go beyond expectations to create memorable moments for guests through meticulous equipment care and an organized workspace.
Cooper's Hawk is committed to fostering a supportive and rewarding work environment. They provide comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and telehealth coverage, a 401k plan with company match, paid time off, and flexible scheduling. Employees enjoy generous dining and retail discounts, monthly wine tastings for two, wellness and mental health support, wine and culinary education, and career advancement opportunities through the Career Growth Flight Plan. Additional incentives include team member rewards, milestone recognition, referral bonuses, and early pay access. Cooper's Hawk is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to accommodating applicants throughout the hiring process and creating an inclusive workplace where diversity is valued.
This full-time role requires candidates to be at least 18 years old with a minimum of six months of line cook experience in upscale casual restaurants or similar settings. Strong knife skills, basic cooking knowledge, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment are essential. Physical stamina is also necessary, as the job involves prolonged standing, moving, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working weekends or holidays. Effective communication skills in English and a team-first attitude are important for success in this dynamic and rewarding position at Cooper's Hawk.
