The role offered is a seasonal-term position as a Line Cook at The Reed's Bistro under NBG. The Line Cook will report directly to the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef and will be intricately involved in supporting daily culinary operations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • ability to obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler Card by the first day of employment
  • previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar commercial kitchen role
  • knowledge of basic cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices
  • ability to follow recipes, standardized procedures, and portion specifications
  • strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
  • strong communication skills
  • flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and established quality standards
  • ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes during all service periods
  • set up, stock, and maintain assigned cooking stations before, during, and after service
  • execute food orders accurately and efficiently during peak service periods
  • maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
  • follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
  • clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas throughout and after each shift
  • communicate clearly and professionally with kitchen team members to support efficient service
  • collaborate with chefs and fellow cooks to maintain workflow and kitchen productivity
  • assist team members as needed to support daily operations and guest satisfaction
  • take pride in the quality, presentation, and consistency of every dish served
  • demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
