The role of Line Cook at Sodexo, specifically at Corban University, offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities with an hourly pay range of $18 to $22. This position requires flexibility in shift availability, as workdays and hours vary, with a preference for open availability. The Line Cook plays a crucial role in maintaining Sodexo's culinary standards by preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items. This position demands adherence to recipes, food safety, and sanitation standards while operating in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As part of a dynamic team, the Line Cook supports the delivery of high-quality meals for multiple meal periods and special events.
Successful candidates in this role will master the efficient and accurate preparation and presentation of dishes. They will manage workstations with cleanliness and organization as priorities, ensuring all food served meets Sodexo's quality and presentation criteria. This role involves physical demands such as extended standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive motions. The Line Cook also must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions precisely and have a basic understanding of kitchen equipment and food handling procedures. Job Requirements
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
- ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time
- ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds
- ability to perform repetitive motions
- good working knowledge of food preparation
- knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred

Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided
- follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments
- taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- significant walking or other means of mobility
- ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours
- ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
- ability to perform repetitive motions
- attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements
