Currently, SSP America is seeking dedicated and motivated Line Cooks to join their team at several restaurant locations inside the Minneapolis International Airport. This role is vital to maintaining the high standards of food preparation and presentation that SSP America is known for. The position offers both full-time and part-time shifts, accommodating various schedules and preferences. As a Line Cook at SSP America, your primary responsibility will be to prepare, garnish, and present food items in accordance with established recipes and portion controls. You will ensure the kitchen or station is properly set up each day, requisition and stock necessary food products and supplies, and handle all items with care to maintain freshness and quality. The role also involves regular cleaning, maintenance, and breakdown of kitchen equipment, adhering to rigorous health and safety standards. Line Cooks will complete various checklists for opening, ongoing operations, and closing to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen workflow. Attention to detail, teamwork, reliability, and a commitment to quality are essential for success in this role.

Ideal candidates will be at least 18 years old with a minimum of one year of experience in a food service environment. A high school diploma is preferred, and strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Proficiency in English is important to effectively communicate with guests and take orders. Basic math skills are required to measure ingredients and follow recipes accurately. Candidates may also need to obtain brand certification depending on specific job requirements. The job demands the physical ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods.

Job Duties

  • Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station daily
  • Requisition and stock all required food, paper products, and condiments
  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly
  • Perform set-up, regular maintenance, cleaning, and breakdown of machinery and equipment
  • Maintain stock, cut, and store all perishables daily to ensure product quality
  • Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required
  • Take responsibility for quality of products served
  • Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products
  • Other duties as assigned
