Job Description
The Country Club is a prestigious and well-established private club known for its dedication to providing outstanding hospitality and dining experiences to its members. Founded on principles of service excellence and culinary innovation, the club has built a reputation for delivering an exceptional environment where tradition meets modernity. Catering to a discerning clientele, the club offers an array of amenities including fine dining, recreational activities, and social events. The culinary team is a vital component of the club’s success, with a strong emphasis placed on quality, consistency, and creativity in the kitchen.
As a full-time, year-round Line Cook at the Country Club, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the club’s high standards of food preparation and presentation. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Chef, this non-exempt hourly position offers a competitive compensation range of $23 to $29 per hour. The role requires working within a fast-paced, open kitchen environment, where professionalism and composure are essential as you prepare and cook menu items in full view of members and guests.
The Line Cook position demands technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering a consistently excellent dining experience. You will be responsible for preparing dishes according to standardized recipes, plating guides, and portion controls, ensuring that every plate leaving your station meets the club’s stringent quality standards. Multitasking and efficient station management during service are key to success, as is maintaining cleanliness and organization in both kitchen and service areas in compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
In addition to cooking, you will be expected to manage inventory effectively by labeling, dating, and rotating products using FIFO (first-in, first-out) standards to minimize waste. Supporting daily prep lists and contributing to the creative use of ingredients across multiple menus will further enhance operational efficiency. Communication with supervisors about menu suggestions, inventory needs, or equipment maintenance issues is an integral part of the role, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
The Country Club prides itself on creating a positive workplace culture where every department supports one another. As a Line Cook, maintaining a professional and positive attitude while interacting with all departments is crucial. Adherence to club policies and procedures is mandatory, and flexibility in working various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events, is necessary to meet the demands of the role.
This position requires physical endurance, including standing for long periods, frequent kneeling and bending, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Uniforms are partially provided—Chef Jacket, Chef Hat, and Chef Pants—along with a requirement for employees to have black work shoes with non-slip soles.
The Country Club is an equal opportunity employer committed to celebrating diversity and fostering an inclusive work environment. Candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as the club values a workforce that reflects the diversity of its membership and community.
