In this non-exempt role, offering a competitive pay range from $16 to $22 per hour, the successful candidate will be integral to maintaining high standards of kitchen operations and guest satisfaction. The position calls for both technical culinary skills and a team-oriented mindset, as kitchen professionals collaborate closely to ensure efficient food preparation, adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and excellent service quality. The culinary team is expected to be quick, efficient, and precise, working in a high-volume environment with a focus on minimizing waste through proper portion control and inventory management.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel and reach for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 lbs
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy trays and multiple plates from the kitchen to tables
  • Must be able to safely use a ladder

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a cook in a high-volume environment
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, and lift and carry up to 40 lbs

Job Duties

  • Ensure the highest quality of culinary services for our guests
  • Quickly, safely, and efficiently prepare food in accordance with our preparation and execution standards
  • Follow established portion control procedures to minimize food waste and maximize profitability
  • Accurately utilize technology to recognize and complete food ticket orders
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment, countertops, walk-in coolers, and storage areas, to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients, labeling prep items, receiving supplies, and notifying the chef or manager of any shortages or discrepancies
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to maintain efficient workflow and communicate effectively to ensure timely preparation and service of meals
  • Assist with dishwashing and food prep duties as needed
  • Maintain a high degree of standards in cleanliness and sanitation at all times
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Execute opening and closing procedures
  • Remove trash, safely operate a trash compactor, and ensure cleanliness of the trash compactor area
  • Other duties as assigned
