Job Description
Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is a renowned restaurant brand that captures the heart and soul of Louisiana through its scratch-made dishes and vibrant gameday atmosphere. Founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, by two LSU walk-on basketball players who transformed their passion for teamwork and hustle into a flourishing restaurant empire, Walk-On's has grown from a single location into a nationally recognized name without ever losing touch with its roots. The establishment is best known for blending the authentic flavors of Louisiana cuisine with the lively energy of sports culture, creating a welcoming environment where guests feel like part of the team. This restaurant prides itself on delivering memorable dining experiences, made possible by the commitment and enthusiasm of every team member, from the kitchen staff to management. Walk-On's fosters a culture of camaraderie, hustle, and championship spirit, emphasizing core values such as teamwork, hospitality, passion, growth, and community. It is a place where employees are valued, growth is encouraged, and the relentless pursuit of excellence is a shared goal.
The role available is for cooks across a variety of stations including prep, fry, line, grill, salad, and sandwich, classified as part-time and non-exempt. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager or the Manager on Duty, cooks at Walk-On's play the critical role of executing chef-driven recipes with precision and passion. The ideal candidates bring a positive, team-first attitude and a willingness to hustle and learn in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. Cooks are responsible for preparing quality dishes that adhere strictly to established recipes while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards. The position demands stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure, especially during gameday events which bring a surge in activity and guest expectations. Employees in this role are expected to collaborate and support their teammates to ensure smooth kitchen operations, maintaining Walk-On’s signature quality and hospitality standards. The company emphasizes flexible scheduling to accommodate students or individuals balancing other commitments. Walk-On's also invests in its team’s growth, looking to promote from within and offering opportunities to advance into leadership roles. With a strong culture grounded in respect and inclusion, candidates interested in joining Walk-On's will find a rewarding and dynamic work environment where every shift is energizing and the spirit of competition drives quality and service excellence.
