The role of Cook is a vital position within the company's culinary team, responsible for preparing food items in accordance with established production requirements and high guest service standards. The employment is hourly, with competitive wages ranging from 21 to 22 dollars per hour, reflecting the company’s investment in skilled kitchen staff. As a Cook, the individual will be expected to ensure consistency in food quality by following recipe cards and production standards meticulously. This role involves preparing food ahead of time while managing inventory to prevent waste or over-preparation. Attention to detail is critical, including dating all food containers and applying proper rotation and storage methods to maintain food safety.

Additional responsibilities include managing shift pars and coordinating necessary food preparation tasks and line setups. The Cook will also be active in controlling food costs by assisting with plans to reduce food waste, loss, and unnecessary usage, ensuring the operation remains efficient and cost-effective. Maintaining cleanliness and proper functioning of kitchen equipment is part of the daily duties to uphold safety and operational standards. Job Duties

  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards
  • Begin food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over-prepare estimated needs
  • Date all food containers and rotate per company standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures
  • Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set-up, note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages
  • Return all food items not used on the next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover and date all perishables
  • Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems and control food waste, loss and usage per company standards
  • Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen tools and equipment
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
