PopStroke is currently hiring for a Cook position, offering hourly pay between $16 and $22 for non-exempt employees at the location 221 Katy. This culinary role is essential in delivering high-quality food and ensuring smooth kitchen operations within a vibrant and fast-paced environment. As a Cook at PopStroke, you will be responsible for preparing food safely and efficiently according to set standards, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and contributing to an organized kitchen that supports overall guest satisfaction.

The role requires collaboration with other kitchen team members to maintain a productive workflow and meet service timings. Duties also include inventory management support, following safety procedures, and assisting in various food prep and cleaning tasks as needed. Physical stamina is important as the role involves prolonged periods of standing, walking, and lifting. Job Requirements

  • must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel and reach for long periods of time
  • must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 lbs
  • must be able to lift and carry heavy trays and multiple plates from the kitchen to tables
  • must be able to safely use a ladder

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience as a cook in a high-volume environment
  • strong knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques
  • must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to safely operate kitchen equipment
  • must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, and lift and carry up to 40 lbs

Job Duties

  • ensure the highest quality of culinary services for our guests
  • quickly, safely, and efficiently prepare food in accordance with our preparation and execution standards
  • follow established portion control procedures to minimize food waste and maximize profitability
  • accurately utilize technology to recognize and complete food ticket orders
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment, countertops, walk-in coolers, and storage areas, to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment
  • assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients, labeling prep items, receiving supplies, and notifying the chef or manager of any shortages or discrepancies
  • collaborate with kitchen team members to maintain efficient workflow and communicate effectively to ensure timely preparation and service of meals
