Kings Gate Golf Club is a prestigious semi-private golf club located in the scenic environment of Port Charlotte, Florida. Known for its picturesque 18-hole golf course, putting green, and well-stocked pro shop, the club offers a welcoming atmosphere for golfers and community members alike. Recently, the club has enhanced its facilities with the addition of the Lion's Den, a newly renovated dining establishment that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Kings Gate Golf Club is not only a premier venue for recreational golf but also hosts a variety of community events and special occasions. The club specializes in wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate holiday parties, class reunions, and anniversary celebrations. Its banquet facilities can accommodate up to 300 guests, providing an elegant setting for memorable events. The club is currently seeking motivated individuals to join their team as Line Cooks, with both full-time and part-time positions available. The pay rate for these roles ranges from $18 to $20 per hour, reflective of the club's commitment to competitive compensation. The Line Cook position reports directly to the Executive Chef and plays a critical role in the kitchen's day-to-day operations. Adherence to recipe cards, focused portion control, and maintaining excellent product quality while managing cost controls are key components of the role. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while following all sanitation and safety procedures is paramount. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a cook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow sanitation and safety procedures
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs., bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and stand for extended periods
  • Maintain Food Handlers or Managers Certificate
  • Eligible to work full-time or part-time as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as cook
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bake ware
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Very good communication skills
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage

Job Duties

  • Comply with written standardized food recipes and beverages to ensure the production of consistent quality and portion control, i.e. sizes of portions, methods of preparation, cooking, garnishing of foods, and sees that the food is prepared as ordered
  • Receives and checks food and supplies into the kitchen and storerooms i.e. inspect condition of contents, checks against invoices & orders, and freshness of product
  • Stores new and reuse products in proper temperatures and proper wrappings
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas as instructed by the Chef or General Manager
  • Complete opening and closing checklists as outlined by the Chef or General Manager
  • Protect the assets of the Club
  • Operate within the guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as established by Hampton Golf
  • Maintain Food Handlers or Managers Certificate
  • Assist with other duties as needed
