Job Description

Chevy Chase Country Club is a prestigious and historic private club located in a serene and picturesque setting. The role of the Line Cook is a critical position within the banquet and catering division of Chevy Chase Country Club. This part-time, non-exempt role reports directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef and focuses on preparing an extensive variety of cold and hot food items. The Line Cook will work in accordance with established recipes and industry standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation excellence. Responsibilities include portioning foods to specification, maintaining kitchen sanitation, assisting with kitchen setup and teardown, and adhering to all food safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. The Line Cook plays a vital role in supporting the club's catering operations, helping maintain the club’s esteemed culinary reputation while upholding confidentiality and organizational values such as respect, integrity, and continuous learning. Job Requirements

  • Three to five years experience in a banquet, restaurant or catering facility
  • High school or trade school diploma desired but not necessary
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and confidentiality
  • Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends and holidays as necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrate consistent attendance and on-time arrival
  • CPR/AED certification or be able to earn within 60 days
  • High school or trade school diploma desired but not necessary

Job Duties

  • Prepares an extensive variety of cold and hot food items utilizing standardized recipes and portions foods as specified
  • Maintains the integrity of Chevy Chase Country Club by watching plate presentations and keeping all recipes confidential
  • Assists with set-up of kitchen before shift and tear down at end of shift
  • Washes and cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and counters required for production in the pantry area
  • Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition at all times
  • Consistently complies with all state, local and agency laws/policies regarding the sale and disposition of alcoholic beverages
  • Assume other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules
  • Supports and exhibits the established organizational values of respect, communication, integrity, innovation, recognition, continuous learning, fun, empowerment and people
  • Work as scheduled
  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
